Rukiye Burucu is an Associate Professor of Nursing with expertise in internal medicine nursing, critical care, chronic disease management, and patient-centered care. She earned her academic degrees in nursing, gynecology and obstetrics nursing, and health sciences, completing both master’s and doctoral theses that focused on patient education, case-based learning, perceived self-efficacy, and critical thinking in nursing students. Her research interests span individualized nursing care, chronic illness management, spiritual well-being, nursing education, patient safety, and nonpharmacological interventions for symptom control. She has contributed to numerous national projects supported by TUBITAK and higher education institutions, focusing on patient care dependency, discharge readiness, supportive care needs, quality of life, and alternative treatment methods. She has supervised graduate theses on individualized nursing care, intensive care experiences, and patient learning requirements, reflecting her commitment to mentoring future scholars. Her publication record includes 15 documents with 10 citations across 10 documents, featuring articles in international peer-reviewed journals on topics such as sustainability in nursing education, body image and quality of life in chronic illness, the impact of catheter dressings on patient comfort, psychological resilience of nurses, and health perceptions during the pandemic. She has presented her work at international and national conferences, sharing findings on nursing care in critical care, chronic disease management, and patient experiences. In addition to her academic roles, she has served in various administrative and quality assurance positions within her institution and actively contributes to professional organizations in nursing. Recognized with academic and professional awards, she continues to advance the field of nursing through research, education, and active participation in scientific and professional communities.
