Prof. Dr. Zhi Yang is a National Distinguished Young Professor in the Department of Physics at Zhengzhou University, China. His research lies at the intersection of nanomaterials, optoelectronics, and radiation detection, with a particular focus on the synthesis and luminescence properties of semiconductor nanocrystals, including CdX, PbX, and perovskite and lead-free halides. He investigates exciton engineering, coupling-dependent energy transfer, and charge-transfer mechanisms in nanocrystal heterostructures, as well as the development of advanced scintillator materials for X-ray imaging. Dr. Yang earned his Ph.D. in Electronics Science and Technology from Xi’an Jiaotong University and previously served as Associate Professor at both Xi’an Jiaotong University and Zhengzhou University. He has completed a visiting research period at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, collaborating with Prof. Jinsong Huang. He leads several prestigious national projects, including the “Young Top-notch Talent of the National Ten-Thousand Talent Program,” and has received multiple awards, such as the Shaanxi Natural Science Award and the Science and Technology Award of Shaanxi Province. Dr. Yang has authored over 70 peer-reviewed publications in top journals such as Nature Communications, Advanced Materials, ACS Nano, and Nano Letters, contributing significantly to the fields of perovskite nanocrystals, quantum dot scintillators, and high-resolution radiation detection. His pioneering work continues to advance the understanding and application of nanocrystal-based optoelectronic and imaging materials.
