Benti holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) in Reproductive Health (2013) and a BSc in Public Health (1999), both from Jimma University, where he also earned a Diploma in Comprehensive Nursing (1989). He is currently pursuing a PhD in Reproductive/Public Health at Jimma University, focusing on improving sexual and reproductive health policies and practices in Ethiopia.

Benti has served as a Lecturer at Mettu University since 2016, teaching and mentoring students in Maternal Health, SRH, and HIV/AIDS education. Previously, he was the Focal Person for IPAS-Ethiopia, coordinating CAC and contraceptive service integration at Mattu University. He also managed community health initiatives with Plan International Ethiopia and held senior academic roles as Dean at Beka and Kea-Med Medical Colleges. Earlier in his career, he served as District Health Manager and Head of Health Centres, leading public health programs and facility management in western Ethiopia.
