Wael Mahmoud Kamel Aboulthana earned his PhD in Biochemistry from Helwan University in September 2015 with a dissertation titled “Evaluation of Salicin Isolated from Salix subserrata against the Effect of Gamma-Irradiation on Fertility Genes and Related Enzymes in Rats.” He received his MSc in Biochemistry from the same university in March 2011, based on a thesis focused on biochemical and molecular studies for gamma-irradiated and non-irradiated rats treated with Egyptian Willow extract. He holds a BSc in Chemistry and Biochemistry from the Faculty of Science, Helwan University, graduating in May 2005 with an Excellence with honor degree.

Dr. Aboulthana is currently an Assistant Professor in the Biochemistry Department at the Biotechnology Research Institute, National Research Centre (NRC) in Giza, Egypt. His work involves both academic teaching and applied biochemical research. As a principal investigator, he has led research projects including one from the NRC’s internal 11th plan focused on the antioxidant efficiency of silver nanoparticles biosynthesized using Croton species.
