Yolanda Hernández Gago is a highly experienced hospital pharmacist whose career has been dedicated to advancing pharmaceutical care in pediatrics, with a special focus on oncology, hematology, rare diseases, and high-risk medications. She has developed extensive expertise at the Complejo Hospitalario Universitario Insular Materno Infantil in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, where she currently leads the pharmacy section. Throughout her professional journey, she has contributed significantly to improving medication safety, designing dosage and administration guidelines in collaboration with nursing teams, and coordinating initiatives aimed at harmonizing drug utilization criteria across healthcare services. She has also been involved in evaluating new technologies and information systems for hospital and primary care pharmacy services and participated in the development of clinical guides on anti-infective treatments. Her commitment to international cooperation is reflected in her teaching contributions at universities in Mozambique, where she supported medical training and education programs in healthcare cooperation. She has been an active member of the Spanish Group of Pediatric Pharmacy, contributing to its early communication platforms, research projects, and educational activities.
