Early Academic Pursuits:
Prof. Bagher Eftekhari-Sis embarked on his academic journey with a Bachelor's degree in Applied Chemistry from Tabriz University in 2003. His passion for organic chemistry led him to pursue a Master's degree in Organic Chemistry at Sharif University of Technology in Tehran, Iran, which he successfully completed in 2005. Building on this foundation, he continued his academic pursuits with a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry at Sharif University of Technology, completing it in 2008 under the supervision of Prof. Mohammed M. Hashemi. His doctoral thesis focused on the synthesis of β-Amino Esters, Stereoselective Synthesis of β-Amino Ketones, and Three Steps Synthesis of New Highly Substituted Indoles.
Professional Endeavors:
He has had a distinguished career in academia, holding various positions at the University of Maragheh. His roles include serving as an Assistant Professor (2009–2014), Associate Professor (2014–2019), and ultimately achieving the position of Professor in 2019. His commitment to education is evident through his roles as the Education Director at the University of Maragheh (2011–2012, 2020–2022) and Chemistry Department Chairman (2010–2011, 2018).
