Dr. Joy Debnath began his academic journey with a Bachelor of Science (B. Sc.) in Chemistry (Hons.), Physics, and Mathematics from Calcutta University, followed by a Master of Science (M. Sc.) in Chemistry with a specialization in Organic Chemistry from the same institution. He further pursued his academic aspirations with a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur (IIT-KGP), where he focused on designing nucleoside-based inhibitors of Ribonuclease A and Angiogenin under the guidance of Prof. Tanmaya Pathak and Prof. Swagata Dasgupta.

He has garnered extensive experience in academia and research. He has held positions as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Tennessee and Wayne State University in the United States. Additionally, he served as a Research Trainee at Syngene International, Bangalore. Currently, he holds the position of Associate Professor at SASTRA University, Tamil Nadu, where he has been actively involved in teaching and research since April 2012.
