Tamene started his career in September 2010 E.C. at Amanuel Mental Specialized Hospital and AKHC in Addis Ababa, serving as a junior psychiatric professional. From November 2011 to 2013 F.C., he worked at WSUTRH, where he led the psychiatry unit, managing treatments and coordinating patient care. He was a mental health focal person in Wolaita Zone during the COVID-19 crisis, helping patients cope with mental health emergencies. From December 2013 to April 2015 E.C., while studying at Jimma University, he simultaneously provided psychiatric services. Since April 2015 E.C., Tamene has been serving as a mental health specialist at WSUCSH, managing psychiatric cases and training medical students.
